Maroochydore Excursion

Yesterday we took mum to the eye doctor in Maroochydore (I can actually say that name now!). Enzo and I walked through the park...

... and downtown to the Big Top Shopping Center. It reminded me of the old Twin City Mall in North Palm Beach. We found a place there that actually sold HOT DOGS, and yes, they called them HOT DOGS! AND when they heard my American accent, they knew right away that I would want 'sauce' (ketchup) on my hot dog. They even had mustard! The buns were unusual and I wish I had taken a photo...next time. Anyway, the bun was like an uncut sub roll with the middle hollowed out. I don't know how he toasted the inside of the bun but he did and just slid the hot dog right down in there. What genius! No sloppy 'sauce' mess while eating your hot dog!

After picking up mum, we walked through the Sunshine Plaza again. We went to the Medicare office there, so Anna could get her money back from what she had just paid the eye doctor. Americans would just not believe this place. It was so clean and organized and nothing at all like an American social service agency. Again, I should have taken photos.

After that, we strolled through the mall a bit and had a bit of 'pizza' (cheese and pepperoni on the top of a round croissant looking thing).

We stopped off at an office supply store (like Office Max or Office Depot) so Enzo could buy printer ink. I found this super sized Post-it note there. You have to admit, that is one BIG Post-it!

Our final stop was Woolworth's (called Wooly's here) for milk. I sat outside to rest my tired feet (and no, I did NOT smoke!).
